Yea... prolly right... I just don't really want to build it myself. I don't need to save a couple of bucks so it can look ****ty, you know? So I'm gonna go check around a couple more places (there are only 2 major audio places here that I know of, and I know somebody who does 'mediocre' work). The sooner I get this enclosure, the sooner I get to have a bumpin' system.

I too can do it in AtoCAD then put it into SketchUp and do a 3D model of it give me some measurements and I will design you a custom sub box.

i work at a high end audio shop and a simple sealed box would be 150+ parts. a ported starts at 225+ parts. to do vinyl trim panels like his would bring it up to 350-425 or so. i would build it out of 3/4 mdf or hdf and then make trim panels out of 1/4" masonite to trim it out similar to the ones in his gallery. you can find cheaper prices, but with that kind of stuff, you get what you pay for!

Turns out the a 2.25 cubic feet ported enclosure was only $125.

To 06 -- That's quite alright. I'm a drafter for a living, so yea... I could have done that myself. Oh, and a tip... Solidworks or Inventor is way better than SketchUp. Then again, Sketchup would work for someone who doesn't specialize in drafting.

That was a ready made box though right? the shop that did my set up has a whole line that looks just like it. mass produced=lower cost Doesn't mean it's cheap though! Bet it sounds nice!

Yea... it was a premade box. I didn't have the money for a custom setup, so I just went with that box. It does sound nice, though. I really need to get some Hushmat or something, cause everything, especially the hatch-gate, rattles like crazy. I had my windows down and the bass up, and the windows looked like they were waving ... so taking care of that is a must.

The pics of my setup are in my in the gallery under "Member's" and then my screenname. It's only 2 pictures... not too detailed, but enough to give you an idea. It bumps very nice, but everything rattles right now because I don't have any anti-vibration matting or anything like that.. And it takes up a lot of room for just one 12" sub. That's my only problems with the set up right now, but after I save up some more $$, I'll be able to fix those.

I guess I got lucky, the only thing that rattled on mine was the liscense plate.
