Subs for an AA5?

Im wondering if anyone has done this already, or if this has been dubbed nearly impossible. What I would like to know is if anyone with the "half-panel option" used the area where the window would've been and put in a sub?
Some of the problems Im seeing when I look at it are obviously the way it would need to be mounted, and how near it is to the outside metal of the car (AKA: a dire need for Dynamat).

look at my pics for some shots of that area with the panel off. I definitely think it is doable with the proper bracing.

You would of course need a shallow mount sub. I had one I wanted to buy but it was pricey like $500 so that didnt happen. Instead I just recent got a 6" powered sub that will be going in that area, just have to finish up my gps project and then hopefully can start on the sub project. The sub is a JVC CS-BB2 6" Powered Subwoofer, Ive never used one before but read some good reviews.

I plan on putting some 12' subs in there, but I will be doing a fiberglas enclosure.

2 12's and 1200 watts, should be fun.

There may be a way....
Im working on the details but If I can get a sort of Subwoofer "tower" (instead of a subwoofer box) made out of MDF and Fiberglassed I may go that Route and have the mono Amp Mouted Flush in the "tower" that would house the Sub up top and provide a base underneath....
