technical question

I was reading in my manual that I could hook up my computer and or Portable DVD player to the aux input on the stereo. Does anyone know what kind of cables I would need to do this?

As far as portable DVD player, same cable as ipod or other mp3 player. Not so sure about comp.

I used a 6' stereo cable 3.5mm (1/8) to 3.5mm (1/8) plug to connect a MP3 player. Depends on your connection to your accessories. Hope this helps some.

It's an audio connection only. So anything you want to hear you can plug in to the 3.5mm plug.

Yup - what they've all said! A standard audio cable will work, just make sure the ends are both male, as (most likely) your DVD player and computer will have female 'audio out' hook-ups. The length is up to you.
As I said sometime back in another post, my son and I take trips together. I fold down the passenger's seat completely flat, and he sits in the rear seat, passenger's side. I hook up his portable DVD player to the stereo and - instant surround sound! The kid loves it, I tell ya!

Thanks for all the help. I got the 6' stereo cable. I think it is gonna be some of the best $6.00 spent for something for my hhr. It is gonna be great to have the DVD and computer sound throughout my hhr.
