Video Playback Strangeness

A week after I got the 2007 HHR I installed a Pioneer X950BH flat screen GPS/stereo system. One of the great things about these is the ability to play back MP3s AND MP4 videos from a USB thumb drive. I currently have about 2000 songs and about 30 videos on a drive. The videos all played great in the X940BT I had in my truck but when I started playing them in the new (to me) HHR, some would play, some would not!

I checked the AVIC411 forum and the Handbrake settings as per their instructions were all the same so I tried renaming, redoing Handbrake, changing file extensions and no go. Some played, some did not. The size of the video did not seem to matter as I have 1 1.5 hour Joe Bonamassa concert and it plays completely.

So, this morning after Joe's video finished another one started and what did I find.....it was one that had not played previously! Nothing had changed with the video since last trying it so I am at a loss for reasons? Anyone have any ideas as to why it is now okay?

Was the difference that the transmission was in park/neutral perhaps? Or, is that what "handbrake" does?

No, the unit has the park brake wire grounded and the bypass done to the mute wire. Makes no difference if moving, stopped, in park or engine off w/key on?

What I can not figure is why they started to play today??!!
