What head unit have you put in your HHR?

What head unit have you put in your HHR?

couple of questions.

Would you recommend it?

Did you lose onstar and xm function?

Does it work with your steering wheel controls?

Looking more for a double din with a screen bluetooth and maybe gps.

Any recommendations?

To maintain the onstar, chimes and turn signals, you need to purchase a wiring harness thats around $200 (like the metra lan04). For the steering wheel controls, another harness for another $70(like the pac swi-ps pioneer/sony adapter). For the XM, you would need to get a head unit with it built in and switch the subscription over, I have no experience with that but it will likely add to the cost of the head unit.
The head unit itself would likely be in the $400-$1000 range depending on features and integrated gps. I like alpine, not really a fan of pioneer, but clarion are decent and a little cheaper.

I bought a Pioneer avh-p4200dvd and I love it. Didn't get gps because I've got my phone. The harness I bought was 125, maintains chines and onstar, but I've replaced my stock speakers and the new ones are powered by an amp, so I lost my chimes, which I don't care about really, lol.

Ditto on the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD. Navigation is an 'add-on' module for this unit, so I will have to save my pennies. You can connect bluetooth, USB-drives, rearview camera, XM, IPOD, SD memory card, etc....

On mine, I have headrest monitors, add-on amp with subs, a Seagate 250GB hard drive in the glovebox with every song I own loaded, rearview camera (w/night vision), and personalized background wallpaper.

Nice unit :)

What headrest monitors do you have? Pics please if you have some.

Also, does the hdd work well scrolling through songs? I have my iPod hooked up now, it'd its a 160gb, but I never thought about using one of those little ext drives.

I would like headrest some monitors though!

Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD.

Awsome Head Unit.

I got mine through Amazon. $312.00 Shipped, with the CD-R55 remote.

PioneerND-BC4 Rear-View Camera, 9" TVIEW Headrest Monitors +Video Games(29 games) +2 Wireless Headsets.

Still gotta hook up 2 Alpine Amps and add my 12' sub woofer to take over the stock 8" one.
