It's ok. I replaced a Garmin that I had really bought for backpacking. The Garmin is great for that, it has a small screen (ETrex Legend C) and wasn't really suited for auto nav. There are some features I miss from the Garmin (such as dedicated keys), but the Mio is really a tricked out Pocket PC so it's hackable to add features and the wide screen is really nice, shows both map and stats at the same time, old unit was so small it showed one or the other, but not both.
