Mike, If you are planning to upgrade your amps & speakers, I would not waste my time putting a stock head unit in. They simply no not have quality DA converters, and the preamps have weak sound quality (EQ and dynamic range) when compared to the aftermarket goods. As much as you might spend on amps & subs would be much better served with a good aftermarket head unit first.
