I don't know if there is a huge difference in tweeters between your and the 2010 lt model, but there is no difference to most aftermarket kenwood/pioneer tweeters that come with mids.

I tested several pairs side by side (one stock tweeter/mid in each door) and there was no difference.

I know for a fact you could have bought a used amp that does more than 20 rms per channel as well as a line output converter for the price of the front components.

Running anything on the stock head units speaker outputs is like saying "I don't care about sound quality".

The tweeters have a built in filter so you don't even need a passive or active crossover for them.

Switch the rear mids to the front if the still work or get some cheap used mids on craigslist or parts express or sonicelectronics.

If you want bass without a sub, get 6.5" sub or full range drivers that extend to 45hz or so.

Those kenwoods are higher power and will likely get damaged from under powering on the head unit.

You would be amazed at how loud the stock tweeters and mids can actually go on an amp.

I bought an old school rf 4080dsm for $40 and a cache cloc'd line output converte for about $10.

Don't underestimated used equipment.

$40 shipped and will fit under the passenger seat with ease.

Think about how this only powers the speakers while the head unit has a board 1/4 as big and does so much more....

My ride had the most basic system HHRs come with, definitly not the pioneer. Paper basically...

It is a work in progress, so amps, head unit and subwoofer will eventually be added.

I was mostly reporting on my suprise to how good the speakers sound when thats all that was installed using the factory head...

If you have these tweeters, that's all you need.

aftermarket mids don't add much unless they are extreme or high wattage or something.

picked up this crossover for $30 today. Much better than most new crap available.

Just an example of the quality of used gear.

sony xec-700. Not as epic as the soughtafter 1000 but definitely a nice piece.

Will make a nice matching addition to my sony xm 4045

I plan to run the tweeters on their own channel and mids on their own (4045 has 2 for HP and 2 for LP)

Check these vifa's out

25w rms. should be better for the stock head unit power than 50w rms tweeters
