it should since I did it a week or so ago, but it seems like most things, you just need to get the right person on the other end of the phone.

HUH???? I called and they said that I still had service even though the card they had on file had been terminated by the bank since someone had hacked into the CC data file at a retailer that I had used. Anyway, XM sent me a letter saying that my CC had been declined and that I needed to send them money....
I called the # from this post and told them that I wanted to get on the $77/year plan and they said OK, we have your CC info on file..... Duh, you would think that the right hand knew what the left hand was doing. Anyway, I told them I wanted to use a new card and they took it. I asked what the total was and they said with tax it was $83 and I would have service through 10/21/10.

Thanks Twist!

I checked my bank account and they did something wierd... They took out 2 different amounts on different days, but the total was the $83 promised. Now, my car radio still works, but I cannot listen on-line and when I sign in it says my account has been deactivated
I don't think they have got their act together yet....

you won't be able to use online anymore, a month or 2 ago, they separated it out, and you have to pay extra for online now. not anything to do with the special, just a way for them to hit you up with another fee.

Thank you all for this thread. I was reading all this and said I would give it a try when mine ran out. Well 10-25-09 mine ran out. I called them 1st person I talked to said no to the $77.00, finally after talking to 2 other people all I had to do is cancel it.And the girl that did that offered me 1 yr for $83. Told her to sign me up got the bill 2 days later. She told me when it runs out next year to call back and they will give same deal. thank you all of you on this thread. I love xm radio for $83 a year.

love that you guys are getting it for cheaper then me. is that $83 out the door, or did they put tax on top of that?

after tax, mine came to $95. Called them up since I didn't know that it was "tax" but that is what they claim, even though i don't remember paying it beforehand.

But if yours is 83 out the door, then somehow you got around being charge for some new royalty fee BS they told me about every time i called. Don't know how you guys didn't get charged for it, but i did.

Twist, I got 2 charges, one for $77 and another for $6 which equals the $83. They never explained why they were going to charge the extra $6 and charge them seperatly, but... don't look a gift horse...
