XM kit for Factory Radio.

Here is some data that I have found about a kit for those of us who wanted to add XM to our XM ready Radio.

Saw that, if you do a search for xm-gm4 you'll see the adapter. Aparently they came out around Feb but I'm surprised that everyone's just finding it this week

They're about $200 including the tuner from myradiostore.com and include the interface and the tuner... for about $50 more you can add an IPOD cable so you press CAT once and you get XM, twice and you get the IPOD interface... I'm going to have my local guy look in to it and see if he can get a lead on them in Canada.

O think this has been talked about here before.

Great info though, Thanks Karen.

Notice though that this will only work on units with the CAT button. That leaves out most base models.

I had my amps installed today and handed this info to my local guy... they contacted their Audiovox rep (who makes these Terk kits) and they said that although it *should* work, it's untested on an HHR. The shop I go to is a Serius shop, not an XM one... so they said if they brought one in and it didn't work then there'd be nothing they could do with it (they couldn't sit on it and wait for a Solstace to come in and want it) So I'll stick with my portable XM tuner and the AUX jack until the manufacturer will say with confidence that I drop $200 on this, and then pay my guy for the install that it *will* work...

If I had one, then I'm sure it would work... but if the manufacturer isn't going to make any guarantees besides 'should' then I'll stick with my delphi...

so, has anyone purchased and installed this xm-gm4 yet? I am a sirius subscriber and am going crazy without my satellite!! I think I posted on another thread about my husband's 07 vette that has XM, and how bad it sounds (although the radio and cd sounds fine) so do you think this will also be the case here? I really don't want a satellite gadget that is just stuck somewhere with wires showing (you know, the tacky look? lol) any advice please feel free to pass it on! have I mentioned I love my teal LT2?? oh, I'm not crazy about the cloth seats either, what seat covers have some of you bought and do the fit good?

p.s. have a great weekend!!
