When i didnt renew after the 3 months was over, i got a card in the mail.
the plan is called
GM Winback Special 1 Year MYP 77.00
got the Nox for
XM Family Plan 1 Year Plan 83.88
both prices included the taxes so the plan was less.
you might try asking if the Promotional special you saw on a card is still available. my 3 month sub was over 1-1 and i got the lil postcard promptly there after for that price.
from what i remember w/o taxes is was like $6 a month for the HHR and 6.78 for the Nox for a year.
mine goes out 2-22-07
Love all the jazz stations and 60's, 70's, 46, 40, DFW weather and traffic is great, wife uses it all the time.
i have 2 of the favorites set up so it gets me to the first station in each category. comedy, classical, movie, christian and so on. great stuff

Sindy, XM doesn't offer lifetime any longer. Sirius still does, and you can switch radios that this applies to up to three times and you will pay a $75 fee to do so (most times this is waived, but it's officially listed in the terms) The lifetime plan is something to consider if you plan on using the same radio for 3+ years though.
Thanks to all for the info. Called the (800) on the invoice, endless loop with an automated female, hit O and got a real live person in a far-away land, but she gave me (800) 321-7117. Got a real live person first shot...asked for the Winback Plan and got a year for $77 + local taxes. Kicks in at the end of my trial period on Sept 10th.
FYI she said they have a promo for subscribers, an XM Roady portable/mobile unit with car connection kit for 1/2 price...$39 + shipping.
Again, thanks to all!

i went back to my account and found out what they called the plan. for $6 more a year you can do the 2nd plan for another car which is what we did.
I like my XM..... and this is my first experience with satellite radio.... but wasnt it supposed to be better because of NO commercials....? what's with all the commercials???? especially advertisement for XM... i already have it... dont need to be sold on it repeatedly every hour

because airplanes use to use radio signals to navigate and you tuned in to it to verify the station either w a code or w them having to announce the name of the station every 15 minutes.
this may be one reason for am/fm to still do it but I cant think of why they would need to do this w Satellite radio. There may be some federal law for station identification.
Nope. It's just Clear Channel influence at XM. Sirius does this to but to a much lesser extent. Oh, and btw, only the MUSIC channels are commercial free on either service. Well, at least at Sirius it is. XM still has 4 music channels programmed by Clear Channel that do carry commercials.
