08 hhr rear drum to disc

I know thiers probley a thread on this .but I can't belive no one has tryd converting ss rear disc to hhr to replace the drums you would think this would be n easy conversion.I was almost thinking of hittn salavage yards for complete rear end with the brakes for n ss .doesn't sound diffacult lol you would think their be n easy way to convert drum to disc beside replaceing whole rear axle from a ss. Any ideas, lettm fly. I'm all ears n I'm sure other members are to thanks for any input.

I think you would need the whole SS rear.... otherwise there's no place to attach the calipers.

Rear calipers need more brake juice than drums, something to factor in as well.. Especially w/ABS

Graybeard essentially told the story.

But I'll add a little. We had a member here who did a rear drum to disc conversion 4 years ago on his '06. He purchased either new or salvaged rear parts from the rear of the SS Cobalts. The parts list INCLUDES a COMPLETE rear axle to one of those cars. I believe, when he was questioned about the fluid and master cylinder requirements, that he needed none. Anyway, IIRC he did a really nice neat conversion.

I think his name was Henry, but I can't remember what his screen tag was (ok, jx3 you're really good at this).

Screen name was hvrod.

Here's the thread for his write up, full of info, but w/o pics as they have been removed/deleted from his PB account.
