My issue was rear shocks, The cars rear end was SLIGHTLY sloppy, but really showed when i went over a dip in the highway at about 65 and unfortunately the rear shock let the rear end bottom out and scrape, messed up my passenger side running board new shocks went in two days later. The old shocks were original, and when i took them out they could barely support their own weight. Like others said, check your springs, they like to break up near the top sometimes.

 

Also, I went the el cheapo route, and got these for 30 bucks for the pair. They are still working great two years later.

I still have a set of new rear FE5 OEM shocks I will sell cheap. I know, not right place, but if OP wants 'em, pm me. I am in Michigan. Maybe I could make you a deal you can't refuse.

Thanks for all of the posts and suggestions. Work has been crazy and just getting back to addressing this issue since i have another vehicle i have been driving since I posted this. I plan to check for the broken springs this week, one post mentions broken "at the top" is that the usual place where they break? For those that have replaced the springs what is the level of difficulty for a DIY.

Easy job, a little effort, be sure to unbolt the brake line, do both sides at the same time, might as well do shocks at the same time.

One of my springs broke at the bottom. I never noticed anything. It wasn't until I had new tires put on that I knew about it.
