06...do you even know what goldlines look like, let alone ride in an HHR with goldlines?

'Rolling' relates to reducing (or eliminating) the body metal that's bent INTO the fender well from the factory. The same can be achieved by grinding
As you know, or have read, the HHR will only accommodate certain rim widths *without* rubbing. Rolling will aid in giving the additional clearance needed without having to do other, more drastic, modification (e.g. body work, etc...). Please note the obvious- a 10" wide Vette rim, or similar, WILL still hit!!!
A note on lowering...
Dropping the HHR (any drop- any vehicle) will reduce the amount of factory 'cushion' (travel space) the wheel assembly needs for absorbtion when hitting a bump/loading the suspension. Granted, lowering generally equates to a stiffer suspension (which inherently means reduced wheel travel) ... but (
Sometimes the lack of 'cushion' isn't a problem for substancial drops (factory rim widths), whereas for others- it IS (wider, non-factory rims + lowering).
LASTLY (
)... The whole 'rubbing' problem should only happen under certain circumstances (that compress suspension- reducing travel), such as: hauling heavy loads (e.g. stereo equipment)/multiple people, hard cornering (auto crossing), hitting large bumps/pot holes (unavoidable).(whew) ... hope this helps clear things up.
