Exclamation Advice

y 2006 HHR needs a few repairs.
1. Lower control arm "Or just replace Bushing?"
2. Front rotors ( Stock or should I upgrade to slotted) ?
3. THermostat
4. Wheel hub/abs ring? Has abs light
5.Front struts FE2 suspension (LT2) Special part number?
6. Both intake sensors? Cel light and hARD 1-2 SHIFT
I plan on using Rockauto to source and order parts. If anyone can advise on these matters please do so.,,,,,,

Welcome to the site. Your post leaves out a lot of info to put together a comprehensive response, but we'll try...

1. Lower control arm - replacing the entire arm complete with bushings is a lot easier than removing and pushing in a replacement bushing - if you have the tools and the time, go ahead and just replace the bushing

2. Front rotors - stock or upgrade to slotted - once again that is your decision - slotted won't make much of a difference unless appearance is important to you - most people just replace them with after market ones like Rockauto that you mentioned

3. Thermostat - not sure why you are replacing it, but the general advice here is to replace it with a genuine GM part

4. Wheelhub/abs ring? you have an ABS light - have you checked the other possibilities before thinking of replacing the hub? Do you know which hub is causing a problem if it is in fact a hub problem?

5. Front struts - special part number? - if you are ordering from Rockauto, use their catalogue number.

6. Both intake sensors? What sensors are you referring to? What is the CEL code behind the CEL light? Without the actual CEL code, any advice on that would be a total guess.

Here is a link to some of the commonly used/needed part numbers we have collected over the years - it might help you out a bit - it contains some info on struts/hubs/lower control arms and rotors https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...-part-i-48833/

1. with complete arms you get ball joints. replacing the bushings and balljoints will do the job a bit cheaper but more labor, arguably better choice at this time. There are 2 bushings per side.

2. Spend your money however you want.

3. try to get a t-stat that doues not have a center gasket.

4. No ABS ring the whole hub.

5. no such thing as FE2. Complete "quik-struts" save money. I think that only FE3 are offered by name brand mfg. stay away from names you never heard of. There is a theoretical difference between FE1 Soft Ride and FE3 Sport Ride, but you probably wouldn't notice.

6. the ABS could be triggering the hard shifting, etc . Get the codes, not the description, should be in the form "Pxxxx".

Yep 2LT, woulda had a 2.4 and FE3 suspension, so for struts and shocks, KYB's would be a great choice.
