So, I found a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS 225/50-17 in stock at tirebuyer.com for 132.25 with free shipping and pounced on them.

One thing that I found strange was that when I put in the make and model of my car it said that 235/50-17 and 215/60-17 would fit. Those are some pretty tall tires and from reading in the forums anything over 26" risks hitting the strut.

Nice! If you dont already have a rear sway bar you're probably going to want one as your traction is going to increase ten fold..

Let us know what you think once you get em.

How old are the tires, did you ask ? I'd read the date codes. Some places think 2 to 3 yr old tires are still new.

Looked around and couldn't really find any feedback good or bad on them anywhere. I saw a posting on here where someone said they found the same which they considered a red flag but who knows really?

We have a guinea pig now I guess

It wasn't a really bad thread it was more of some hidden charges and there final cost not being as cheap as listed :

I know what you meane in regards to if I really want it bad enough and there the only ones that have them in stock whats a few extra bucks! In todays economey though every little bit counts .....

I think it is kind of hit and miss though. TireRack wanted $120 a tire with $100 shipping and tirebuyer had them for $132.25 with free shipping. So $580 vs $530. If tire rack had them at a distributer that was closer it would have been ~$50 shipping so it would have been the same price. If Wal-Mart had them in stock I think it was about $138 per tire.

I ordered them last night and it said 1-10 days delivery and 1-3 days shipping was free. So I guess I will wait and see but expect them by the Friday after next at the latest.

Now I must figure out the brakes on the car. I would really like drilled rotors for looks but want good rotors. My car feels like it is coming apart because it shutters so bad. My thoughts on this is to check the rear brakes and make sure they are adjusted up good, buy good Ceramic front pads, buy decent drilled rotors, paint Caliper, paint rear drum.

Anyone have input on what brakes would be good. Drilled vs Slot?(want an aggressive look but something that won't mess up my brake pads)
