Best Suspension Upgrade EVER
Hi to anyone reading this!
I just wanted to say thanks to all the people on this site for writing their opinions on coilovers. I read them all. This past week, I purchased and had installed a full set of KW V2 coilovers: which comes with : front coilovers, struts, rear coils and shocks, and then I bought a new set of tires too, all for my 2009 Black 2.4 HHR. I can't even begin to tell you how AMAZING the difference is now with my car. The ride height is very adjustable - now it almost tucks the front tires, the ride is stiffer, and there's no body roll at all. 235-55-17's on 17x7 Focal wheels all the way around. The all time BEST suspension upgrade I could have done, and they are NOT "just for looks". After trying to get bigger tires on the front which failed due to Chevrolet's stupid "strut coil-base over the tire" design, some way fat meats are on there now. I know the KW set is a bit spendy, but in my humble opinion very worth every dollar. I hope you have a GREAT rest of the day !! *Jennifer*

Please do post up some pics.
With that tire/wheel combination, your speedo will be off by 6.5%. So if your speedometer is reading "60", you'll actually be going 63.9 mph, give or take a tenth or two.
Just something to keep in mind if you have any speed traps that you regularly pass.

I've been saying the KWv2's are awesome for a couple years now. I was just amazed how well they worked at the autocross track. If you think you have no body roll now, try the Powell hardcore 1.25" rear bar....you will have no roll at WOT throwing it through the chicanes. Really unbelievable handling for a 300hp station wagon.
At the 235 width there should be room left at the rear inside corner, kinda surprised they don't catch the rear seam of the fender in the front. I have found that different mfg's. tires are different sizes, for instance Michilin pilot sport as fits in a 235x45x18, the math says it wont but it did and they run out great. and 255x40x18 works in a few tires.
welcome to the KW group Jennifer.......give us a peek....https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show....php?t=3033%27

Hello again to those that responded to my post about the amazing KW coilovers ! Thanks for the heads-up for the speedometer differences, I will keep that in mind.
There is maybe 1/4" clearance for the tires... Not much, but just enough to clear the tires. We re-radiused the rear plastic fenderwells with two pop-rivets each side to snug them up to the inside to clear the tires. I did extensive calculations and online tire manufacturer research to find tires would fit and it worked. My brain hurt for a few days after that...
Pictures will be posted after my car comes back from the body shop - she's going to become a two door. The rear passenger doors are being welded up, the outside rear door handles are being shaved off and smoothed, the rear hatch wiper hole is being welded up, and the On Star roof hole is being welded up too. Early holiday present for myself !! I hope you have a GREAT rest of the week !** Jennifer **
