Cobalt SS Struts?

Cobalt SS Struts?
So...have some new springs headed my way (Thanks again Rally!) and I need to start thinking about some new front struts. Prolly need them soon anyway, since the stockers have 106k on them.
In doing some research, I found that there was some good points made about matching spring rates with comparable shocks and struts. Igotawoody seemed to hit it best, if I recall correctly. So, the springs came off of a 2006 SS Cobalt...is my thinking that new struts for a 2006 SS Cobalt on my 2006 HHR off base? Would this set up work? I know that Koni makes a fine product, but they are pricey. I'd love to stick with OEM parts that I know are going to mesh/fit. Also, I've replaced the rear stock shocks with KYB's. I recall seeing a post (don't remember which thread) that said LT/SS rear shocks have the same part number? Am I going to be ok or will lowering the car on SS springs be tough on the new KYB's that I installed?
This is my first venture in to suspension modification, so please excuse me if my questions sound a little dumb
I know there are a lot of intelligent folks on here that can shed a little light on what I'm getting in to. Always open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Hey Smoot,
Were thinking you are wanting to install the springs front and rear? The KYB's you are refering to were there version of GM's FE3's we believe so you would want to match with a GM FE3 strut! KYB's shock / strut is a replacement comparable to the FE3 and not the SS FE5 version! Our suspension parts are SS's but are of the FE5 version! So in a nutshell if wanting a GM match to your KYB's, the GM FE3 strut should match!
