Coilovers?

Has anyone upgraded their suspension using coilovers?

You'll probably get different answers but in my opinion, you don't need them unless you're doing auto-x or something. Just be patient and wait for decent shocks and struts to become available and pair them with some lowering springs.

If you do get them though, buy them from a vendor here or on css.net. That way you'll get some kind of warranty.

For that price they should be! I would almost go back to the airbag kit if I was spending that much, and tearing into the suspension. But hey, to each their own.

I'm just trying to get a little more out of the HHR in corners. I know wider rims will help (I have the basic narrow steelies).

I sold my sports car, and before I sink money into another one I just wonder if I can get the HHR to do double-duty. Too bad the 2.2 I chose isn't the engine that the SS uses... I'd be looking to add a turbo, too.

i thought about buying the same ones i put cobalt ss springs on my car and i still have a gap between the fenders and my 18" wheels. i want to eliminate the gap, and for $130 on ebay you cant beat the price for 4" of adjustment. i will let you know how the ride is after i install them.

Another choice from a supporting vendor, just FYI:
