Coilovers are made just for the race track folks. They are not made for street use, but you can use them, if you can live with them not lasting long. "Moon"

1Panel2NV- Thanks for that info.
Moon- I respect your opinion seing as you've been around cars for a while now.
BartSS- That stinks! Why the sudden change of heart on the SS??

Alrighty then since you guys have saved me like $1K I've a new question: what's the drop on the Pedders springs and are they the best option for us then?

Asanti- im just fed up with the constant bull**** with it. Knowing me ill keep it a little while longer and get rid of it and either get a truck or a civic hatch and have fun with that. 2 extremes i know haha

The pedders dont drop quite as much as sportlines or similar, but they are excellent for performance. The two dont necessarily go together. A local builder (did the Time Attack Cobalt) prefers the pedders springs to coilovers based on performance. Pedders did some good development on the track versus going for a certain look.
You need to decide whats more important, a nice looking big drop, or solid performance. Many find the sportlines look good, but are too bumpy on the road and track.
There are members on here with each of them installed, do a search for relavent threads.

Funny you mention that Prod, I just finished doing a search for Pedders+ lowering springs on here lol. I'm more practical so I don't need a badass 3" drop. It seems the Pedders would give me what I want and from what I've seen from members that have them it's going to give me the look I'm after. Though it's a static drop that I won't be able to raise in the winter it's something I can live with. It won't be my 1st lowered DD so with the $ I'll save I can keep it or put it towards something else for the SS. Thanks guys.

Well the trigger's been pulled! I've got a set of Pedders springs, TTR steering rack spacers, and another set of HAHN IC piping on the way to me from TTR (I traded the 1st set I had for Aeroforce gauges). ALL for less than 1/2 what I'd have spent on the coilovers alone, Fun times! Again thanks for the honest opinions here folks. Now to sit by the door and wait "patiently" for my Fedex guy to arrive.....

asanti: Along with the better looking stance you'll get with the Pedders, you should take the rest of the dough, and put on a set of nice looking wheels. A set like mine [Black centers-Red lips] with look badasssss on your ride. Wheels were only $398.00 delivered.
Oh...and yeah I love my Pedders springs. Any lower and I'd be scraping the front facia on curbing. Thats why I'm debating on doing a front splitter. "Moon"

Oh I've already got a set in mind (OZ Allegerita's in gold- 17lbs/ea, yum! Check them out at Tirerack's site). I love your rims (think I told you that already, especially the deep lips they have) but out of respect for your look I wouldn't get them (unless they came in all gold? hmmm) I want to distinguish my SS- example, I've red bowtie overlays vs black like others have on here, NO black rims- already done to death by others, etc. I really like the look they have and like what they've done, but I want to set myself apart a teeny bit lol. BTW Moon, I showed the Mrs a few pics of your ride to show her the Pedders drop I'll have and she really likes what you've done to your SS!
