? on coilovers
Completely disagree with this "coil overs cant be run year round" business.
I have had ground control (aluminum) coilovers on 2 of my cars for 5+ years rain and shine and they still work perfectly. Note, if you decide to go with a higher spring rate you'll just make an already bad snow car even worse.
That said , if I was going to go that direction I would do Eibachs and Koni yellow struts.. Haven't experienced anything that rode as nice as the Konis.

PhoS, I appreciate and understand what you're saying. That's why I was leaning towards the KW's since they're made from SS and would be pretty much impervious to roadsalt here. You're in Oakland though, not to throw a dig at you, but how much snow do you see during winter? I've awoken (sp?) up to 10", 12" and last season 14" of snow. Not fun. I was asking because I'd LOVE the coilovers, but would HATE to spend 1300 or 1500 and have my coils rust or corrode out to the point I can't raise/lower the SS whenever I'd like to. I'm going w/ Pedders springs/stock struts for now. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and get one or the other set of coilovers next season.

Which ss cobalt struts /shocks did you get sc or tc? and how low does it sit? I just brought my '07 LT2 from the dealership for struts replacement and the rears are leaking but they are not covered under my ext. warranty. So I want to replace the rear shocks and springs with the ss cobalt but not sure between SC or TC and depending how it looks then I will decide what to do with the front struts/springs. I have the 17" chrome wheels with 205/50/17.

Thought about Pedders Coilovers myself, but went with stock FE5 struts, and Pedders springs, along with OTTPerformance "Hardcore" rear bar, and trust me this works, and real good. Kinda think now coilovers would be overkill, after doing a couple of runs on the Autocross course.
Unless you're gonna do some real harcore racing, the above setup will work just as good, for ocassional playtime. "Moon"
