Hello i have a 2007 ls i need to replace both my control arms bushings are shot in the rear next to the firewall so my question is could i go with the mevotech ones for the fe1 or should i go with the dorman ones the mevotech are cheaper which i don't know why? Dormans call for stock replacement so i am not sure the control arms for the fe1 suspension will work ,also will i need a alignment?I had one done a year ago with no problems...thanks for any suggestion by the way i have about 150000 miles on her....

 

i would stick to the dorman..lifetime warranty too i think
also depends on how long your gona keep the car

 

you should really find moog or raybestos though..that would be my choice

 

Either should be fine from what I understand. I just last weekend replaced the bushings in my LS Panel.
I agree now if you are going to do the job and dont mind spending the extra cash, replacing the complete arm is the way to go. Replacing just the bushings is a bit of a pain. It probably would have saved me an hour and a half to 2 hours if I had replaced the arms. Plus you get new ball joints.
And no, there should be no reason for an alignment. Made a world of difference in the ride and handling.

 

VinceP has the right idea spend a little more but get a lot more

An LS is the FE1 suspension.

 

BTW, if you don't have a compressor and an air impact wrench, you will want to rent one. It will save you a ton of time and a sore arm. The large, long bolt that goes from the bottom back of the control arm into the "frame" rail would be a PIA by hand. Only a couple of minutes with an air tool.

 

Doc Brown X 2 and the FE3 suspension has a different ball joint diameter, it is bigger won't fit FE1 steering knuckle
