Many times, parts books say, fits SS, but they are incorrect.

I'll look into it also. BRB.

Most masters are discontinued on GM sites. I only found a part number for SS manual. It should be different from everything else, in that it connects to the clutch master, sharing fluid. No other HHR does that.

Automatic transmission equipped cars may interchange, and LS/LT manual.

RJ- My last Chevy S-10 (1998) manual shared the MC as well for it's juice clutch.

Revisiting since I'm ready to pull the trigger on finding a JL9 axle; if the masters don't have to be switched, what controls the anti-lock? Presumably the rear discs are outfitted with sensors... I can't imagine that the computer would automatically assume that the rears are locking.. or would it?

The ABS sensors are in the hubs which you can reuse in the new axle assembly.
No muss, no fuss.

Oh :-) I didn't think of that. I never looked to see where the wires ran (or even if there were any) the last time I worked on my drums...

Took the plunge today and swapped the rear beam. Unfortunately the brake line kit I bought from ZZP was missing the front brake lines, so I have a call into them about how that happened. But.. other sellers of that brand (Goodridge) state that the kit only has the rear (4) braided lines... dunno.. something weird going on there. Also did the "big rotor" SS upgrade to the front with the stock caliper. We forgot to clearance the dust shield though... it was a noisy test ride!

i just sent letterman a PM but i thought id post here in case anyone can help troubleshoot.

basically, i took a whole rear drop out from an 08 SS and bolted it on w/no problems. i took it for a test drive and my abs/esc/traction lights all came on (w/no cel codes) and im wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong? no performance issues as far as i can tell. its on an 11 2LT w abs so im working on swapping out the hubs since ive not had any abs issues prior and the wiring was from the 11 since they cut the SS wiring at the yard. does this sound like a hub/sensor issue or am i wasting my time?

any help would be great, thx.

Could be the SS hubs had an issue, swap in your 2011 hubs
