i have an 08LS and went full out and replaced all suspension to fe5 WITH a rear sway bar from TTR and also went from 16 to 18's also. I love the ride..yes it is more stiff and bumpier but it feels more sportier and tighter aroudn corners. I dont autocross but its fun to whip around the streets and corners in, its much more planted now on this set up than before. Only problem is if you go up to 18" rims, you will feel the power lull and use more gas since its having to turn the heavier wheels that the 2.2 was not made for...but i made up for it with a bunch of mods and a tune..just figure out what you want to do in the long run and go for it :)

I'd suggest swapping rear springs to level the ride.. Big Difference in handling, then a rear sway bar...

I did read through that thread. I thoroughly understand the OP. I just sold a Silverado w/ 22" wheels/tires, the ride was the worst. My idea is to find a happy medium of sporty handling and a decent ride quality.

I really think "Sleeper" has it nailed for starters and for a LOT LESS MONEY.

SS Cobalt TC Springs and a TTR Rear Sway Bar.

Spring Part Number 25821162

16" Tires at 32lbs. cold.

The beauty is you could just add on from there if you are not satisfied and you would not loose all your ride quality.

I am assuming the Cobalt springs are of the stock variety, and those will lower the rear a bit ?

isnt just changing to the sc springs just going to lower it? wont do much for handling since he is still on fe1 shocks/struts..should change them out WITH the springs

Yes and Yes. Lower rear by approx, 1 1/4" Just the right amount to keep it close to level.

Leave spring tags on for warranty purposes .. A good tip from Sleeper.

Rear has shocks only ... These would be SS Cobalt TC not SC springs.

I would not replace the shocks if they are not leaking unless .. you want to replace with new FE3 shocks.

Thats the beauty of doing this one step at a time.
