Found the fix

Well front end had a shake.....after changing rotors and pads twice ( another story) and rotate and balance the tires.....turned out to be a need for a front end alignment....HHR is now as solid as a rock and handles very well...

I will be replacing the front struts soon and wanted to know what the best replacment would be...FYI I dont do track days or run it hard just a daily commuter on twisty county roads..

the other story is when chasing down a pull to the right and a certain metal grinding noise,,,, com to find out there was a lead stick on wheel weight stuck between the pads and caliper piston....and even after that still had some noise so I swapped back to standard replacement smooth rotors and ditche the drilled and slotted ones....now it stops nice and quiet and smooth and straight...hope this helps anyone with similar issues.

Glad you got it sorted out. As far as the struts, I installed KYB's on my 08 Panel and I am very happy with them. No harsh ride but handles better than stock.

FE1 suspension. I purchased the struts from Rockauto.com. They were the cheapest I could find at the time. Part numbers were KYB 339085 and 339084 for the struts and KYB SM5513 for the strut mounts.
Hope this helps.

Performs way better than stockers. I should clarify. When I said the cheapest I meant that Rockauto had them cheaper than everyone else. Not that they are cheap struts.

I don't have much faith in Monroe any more. The last couple of sets of shocks I purchased of theirs did not make the cut.

I have had the KYB's on for about 35,000 miles and still feel great. I will purchase them again when needed.
