hhr ss brembo swap

Hey guys I just completed my brembo swap on my 10' hhr ss. Overall it was a piece of cake total cost was just over 200 that inclued calipers rotors and pads. One thing I found out is the brake hoses are the same in brembo and non brembo so that helped a bit. Pictures are on the way!

Double check those hoses, the Brembo conversion I did and several I have read about , the hoses were to short!
I ordered correct hoses from GM.

I installed my Brembos but noticed the recommended brake lines for the Brembos were .5" longer than the stock calipers. You should notice that the fitting and caliper slightly differs from the OEM caliper and any strain (lets say in a hard turn) may lead to a ruptured line if braking. Since the lines are not stainless reinforced that should be a concern. Here is the perfect part number to use; ACDelco 176-1694,when ordering simply because the bolt and crush washer are preinstalled plus this is the same part the GM techs use at the dealership when the upgrade is performed. The part costs under 20 bucks and provides piece of mind for the do it yourselfer.

Hope this info helps clear things up.

All I did instead of changing lines was space the brackets over a 1/4 inch and that took care of the tightness in the lines I can go full lock both ways and still have slack in the lines.

And I picked up the calipers for 85 for the reman pair from a guy on fb picked up rotors for 80 for the pair and pads we're 60 I think so 225 total
