HHR SS Susupension & Brakes
HHR SS Susupension & Brakes
Does anyone know what all parts are different on the SS' suspension and brakes, besides the obvious springs, struts/shocks and rear discs? Part numbers would be a huge help as I'm looking to swap in the SS parts on a 2LT.
the entire brake system is different. to do the discs on the back you would need the entire axle. just find one off of a cobalt with discs. i wanna say alot of the suspension parts are very different.
The steering knuckles are different, both half shafts are different, outer tie rods are different, the lower front control arms are a different part number(but this may be only be due to different forward bushings, which are available sperately),different master cylinder, rear brake hoses, the anti lock module is different, the traction control module is different, shall I go on?

For the rear discs I figured hubs, caliper bracket, caliper, pads, rotor, ABS sensor and hoses. For the front brakes I really don't know if they're different, but I kinda figured a different ABS module and master cylinder.
I also figured different sway bars, links and bushings, different struts, shocks and springs.
I'd think the different half shafts and TCM are due to the different powertrain and not suspension related.
I basically want to have the handling, braking and stance of the SS and I want to use new GM parts, so whatever it takes I'd like to know the parts and their part numbers. I was planning on using SS wheels as well, but I've become quite fond of the Foose Nitro in a 20".
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried TCE?

I think this would be your best and cheapest option for new on the rear. You may be able to find a complete off of a Cobalt SS?
