I've just lowered mine using ZZP's Cobalt kit. Had them assemble the front struts (totally worth it) and set everything in place today. Fronts worked out pretty good, rear coils, not so much. I've got a message into OldBlue about Canuck's kits, but since they have the same part number as the Cobalt kit, I'm fearing the same thing will happen at the rear. Any suggestions for a "better" lowering spring at the rear? Stock SS maybe?
That's good to know. I just talked to ZZP and they said that, for the HHR, that "looks about right" (concerning the collapsed springs). That does not sound right at all to me. I'll have to call Canuck to see if they'll sell just the rear set.
I waited 7 weeks for the kit I got in October, it’s sitting in the shed waiting till the warmer weather.
Catman has these from a Cobalt SS/SC
GM Parts Direct: P/N 10390024
I found this information also
GM part number for the SS/SC rear spring is #10390024 for both sides. 1 1/2" drop
GM part number for the SS/TC rear spring is # 25621162 for both sides. 1 1/4" drop
What about Cobalt springs SS/TC or something like that, several members have them installed and are happy with them.
Sleeper and Silverfox have them maybe they’ll chime in with part numbers a pair was about $50.00 from RockAuto
Yeah, that's what I'm waiting to hear. The car will never see heavy loads - it's not what I bought it for. But if I can drop the rear just a little and still retain a reasonable ride I'll be happy.
*edit* to say that with a quick search, Cobalt SC/TC springs are NLA from GM.. uh-oh...
