Need Help. Dreaded "Clunk" Already Replaced bushings AND links...
So I have a 2006 HHR. I've already replaced the sway bar links twice, I just finished replacing the sway bar bushings. And It's still clunking. Badly. The sway bar links are factory original size (just under 10 inches Center to Center) and are brand new Moog parts. I'm at a loss now for what it could be. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Struts were replaced recently as well... might be the control arm bushings, the "clunk" is lower in the front end, sounds almost as if it's coming from the center, which is why I was hoping that replacing the sway arm bushings would have been the fix... I'll have to order some LCA bushings now.

It is a better idea to get complete arms, unless you know how to press bushings.
There is a mountain of info on this site including a how to replace LCA, give the search tool a try, top center of each page.

Order Moog K200792 bushing bearings, if you can't press them then have a machine shop do
It! Well worth the effort, I changed mine with an air chisel the first time , and a ball joint press the second time!
The first replacement rubber bushing is on the right with approximately 60,000 miles, that was an OEM GM bushing! Yeah!
The Moog bushing is on the left!

Replaced both lower control arms... still clunking.
I've just ordered new Monroe quick struts... So I guess we'll see if THAT fixes it this weekend.
That said, replacing the control arms was WAY easier than expected.

Oh I know... and I did all the troubleshooting/diagnosing, it all pointed to the parts I've replaced already... Looking over the receipts for parts and whatnots, it was the rear shocks that were replaced, not the front, so in addition to working to stop the clunk, they are "due" for replacement at this point anyway.
