It looks like its time to replace a control arm bushing.

I have always used the MOOG problem-solver bushing K6698 ($7.50 at Rock Auto).

Rock Auto now lists another MOOG bushing K201285 as having a "zinc coating for use on aluminum control arms". It's 4x the cost of the K6698. It also appears to be a completely different design.

Anyone use the new bushing? Maybe this one would last a lot longer (it better for $28).

The none zinc coated K200792 version has been installed on Oldblue LCAs since early August 2015.

It is a completely different design. The center is a bearing, not just rubber.

 

Rock Auto doesn't even list that number under the HHR Suspension parts.

If I do a Manufacturer/Part Number search it does show it for $17.73.

I just ordered the cheap K6698 for $7.50. Maybe I should order the one you used instead. It looks a lot more "substantial".

According to MOOG's site, K200792 is only listed for the Cobalt (+ other cars) but not the HHR.

They do list the zinc coated one as fitting the HHR. I assume this is because they want you using the zinc coated for aluminum control arms. The zinc one looks just like yours with a zinc coating.

I don't see any problems with using the K200792 that you used except it might corrode faster due to no zinc coating?

Cobalt SS which has the aluminium lower arm is the same for the HHR.

 

Moogs catalog SUCKS when it comes to HHR. They seem to think ALL of the parts are identical to Cobalt base model.

Just because you recognize the name doesn't mean they are better than anybody else. The Moog name has changed hands several times over the years, currently owned by Federal Mogul, automotive suspension parts, at any rate; other types of things owned by other companies.

The Moog inc. company is a Aerospace, Defense, Industrial Automation, and Motion Control manufacturer. Then there is the Moog Music company of synthesizer fame. (E.L.P. fans?)
