New Powerslot rotors and Hawk ceramic pads

Guys and Girls,

At 33,000 miles I installed the above parts to our 09 LT. It had become irritating to stop from 40 mph or above and so I bought the stuff off of Autoanything.com .

I always follow the instructions of the pad manufacturer......if they say do this or don't do that I obey. The Hawk pads recommend a bedding procedure of 4 stops at 35mph moderately, and 3 stops at 45 mph moderately severe with a 15 minute cool off period. The purpose here is to transfer material from the pad to the rotor. Once complete you have better performance, less squeeling and smoother braking.

Time will tell how they wear but these are twice as much as cheapie parts, so I'm optimistic and this set up worked well on a previous car. A bonus is that Powerslots are treated and don't rust.

Good thought sleeper, adjust your rear brakes if you didn't when you did the fronts, then do them every five thousand miles or every tire rotation.

This is a great procedure IMHO.

Bedding in

Sorry,

I forgot.........it was 6-10 35 mph rolling stops the 3-45 mph severe almost stops (5 mph or so) then cool off for 15 minutes. It smelled pretty foul I have to say!

p.s. I did adjust the brakes at rotation time.
