New Shocks in the back after puting lowering springs..

ok i bought some road magnet lowering springs for my 2006 HHR LT it lowered the back 2.5 inches and i live in louisiana and the roads down here arent the best.. so i was wondering if anyone had to get shorter shocks for the back cause i think im bottoming the shocks out when i hit a bumb it doesnt sound good.. The car never bottoms out itself though i think it did once or twice but thats it.. so if anyone has any suggestions on what to do it would be appreciated..

did you cut the bumper stops? If not then this is what you are hearing as they will contact before the shocks do.............

If you raise your car up without supporting the rear axle are your springs loose? If so, that's your problem. The noise you hear is the car body bouncing off the springs and then slaming down. To correct this you will need to install a shorter rear shock to preload the springs.
