I actually used cobalt FE5 struts and shocks, 2006. Used cobalt springs too, but found the rears made it feel sluggish, a little too soft IMO.
The sway bar will pivot up and down, so I think the length of the links isnt critical, as long as they are the same on both sides.

I guess if they don't line up flush I can measure and run to parts store.

You think it'll be Ok to use 08 hhr parts?

Read bad things about using Cobalt Springs on hhr due to weight

I've used MOOG bearings, springs, & bushings in the past and ALWAYS been happy. All parts exceeded my expectations. I never regret the money I spend on them.

I put MOOG lca bushings today and they were about twice as heavy as the stock units. I probably installed 100 sets of MOOG springs in the past for customers and never had a complaint or even one set fail.

Just sayin'

ive always used Moog Problem solver edition for the explorer and its lift suspensions and after market parts. Just didnt know how well Moog held up on the HHR. thats why i was asking.

another thing, is it ok to run FE5 rear set up (springs and shocks) while front is NOT fe5? my rear fe5 set up will be here today while front will be Fri, just figured if i knocked the rear out and done it would be less i have to do on friday but will it screw anything up?

Won't hurt anything. Just don't drive it hard in the mean time.

A little advice. When you swap the springs, you have to swap over the spring insulators/bumpers on both ends of the rear springs. The bottom one is plastic and easy to crack. Both can be a pain to remove/replace because they fit snug into the tapered spring ends. Hopefully yours have loosened a little with age and miles and won't be too hard to swap.

FE5 front and rear springs: (rear with the tapered end)

No, you can use your old bump stops/ insulators as long as they're in good shape.
This picture shows the rear parts(sort of) Bump stop on top. Black insulator on the bottom. You just swap from the old springs to the new.
