Rear Brake Calibers

Just put 20 inch wheels on and now I would like to get rid of the drum brakes in the back (2006 1LT) . Anyone know of a nice conversion kit that is reasonably priced ? Thx

Not an easy (read $$$) solution here...either get necessary parts from a Cobalt or HHR SS, or get a kit from Todd at :http://www.tceperformanceproducts.co...s.pl?record=27

Mmmm. 20s.

You "could" do 16" front kits with perhaps a 14" rear kit. Could be fun...as long as you're buying! lol

Just buy some fake caliper/disc covers that go over the drums..................( and then get picked on)

Last Saturday I was talking with a friend who works at a salvage yard. Realizing that finding a SS rear axle might be pretty hard, I still ask him to keep his eyes open for a HHR SS or Cobalt SS rear axle. He proceeds to tell me that they had just got one in the day before (Cobalt SS). I ask him to find out what they wanted for it. Fast forward to Tuesday - stopped by his house to see if he had found out any thing. He tells me that the rollback driver used a chain on the rear axle and bent the hell out of it. With a grin on his face he said that " the 20 inch pimp wheels and tires " were still in great condition. To each his own, but I'm not a big fan of really big wheels.

Anyway if I was to get all the disc brake hardware off of this rear, can it be bolted on in place of my drums?

Difficulty: 1 -10?

Can't do it with your stock axle without adding a bracket to hold the caliper...if you can fab & weld though, shouldn't be a problem!
