Rear Suspension lift needed
early 80's Cavalier rear coil spring air bags will fit the HHR rear coils with no mods and no disassembly....slips between coils..I ran both lines to the fuel door compartment.....5 lbs of air will be quite noticable...meaning it doesn't take alot of air to level it, which is good. Sept will be 2 years on these bags with absolutly no problems.
Thanks for all the suggestions. The rack is a heavy one, about 55lbs. the bikes are at 30lbs each. The rack does cantilever a distance from the bumper. The hitch itself is just under the bumper. The car as usual is just over the factory warranty. I've only put one bike on the rack, I'm afraid to put the second bike. You're looking 85-90lbs making the vehicle sag over 1".
Ours is an 09, which we bought new about 6 weeks ago. With the hitch, four bike rack & our Recumbent tandem we have no issues. What bike rack is 55lbs. I'd bet ours is maybe 25lbs, it's an old Rhode Gear, very solidly built. Just for kicks I looked up the Draftsmaster, which will easily carry 4 Adult DF's or Recumbents, Two Adult Trikes or Two Tandems, it's weights 47lbs. By the way, our driveway has the rolled curbs, no issues in either direction. Our 95 Old 98 did scrape the hitch, if you tried backing out.
Some ain't right.
