I ended up purchasing the complete lower control arm from GM and after taxes, it cost me $238.00. It was a very easy task that took me 20 mins to do, my hhr almost handles like new now. I went ahead and ordered the other side, replacing the complete LCA is the way to go. Thanks for the great info on this forum.

What is really odd is that I can get the complete LCA from a Canadian vendor on Ebay for around $80 shipped to me in the US. They do actually ship to me from the US, but still... They have a warehouse in the middle of the river/lake. Prime Choice, one of my favs.

Hi, today removed the LCA from my 2006 HHR with 102000 KM
The rear bushing was very bad, got also the bolt spinning at the end but It was just to pulling out with another key while screwing out with an Impact Wrench.
Removed the old bushing from the LCA with a small saw and then with a hammer and a flat screwdriver.
Just have to wait until tomorrow to fix the new one bushing with an hydraulic press at my work
Also need the part number of that bolt, anybody can help me with this?
Thanks!

Bolt 11589009, surprisingly on eBay about $8.

Be aware that there is a mark to be lined up with the bump on the arm.

What do you mean with "Be aware that there is a mark to be lined up with the bump on the arm"?

Do you see the bump on the arm? There is a corresponding mark on the bushing. There is also a top and bottom of the bushing. It does not just pop in willy-nilly.

That’s a solid aftermarket bushing, the OEM must be installed timed for the pivot points of the bushing see the solid piece, not the open space

I know this is an aftermarket, i will install this temporally (can´t find here the LCA), i bought the both sides LCA but have to wait until November 11 to arrive from the USA, i can´t be w/o the car, so this will be replaced again when i get the new LCA.
Thanks again.
