Springs Different HHR vs. Cobalt?

Hello all.
I've been searching the forum looking for replacement struts for my wife's HHR. I saw the quick struts on Amazon, but then saw some posts on here that people were getting the wrong springs with their Monroe setups. Someone mentioned that the quick struts Monroe threw together were the same for the HHR and Cobalt, and should not have been as they use different spring ratings.
Someone then mentioned that Monroe has corrected the problem.

Well, when I look to see what the quick strut fits, the same part number yields both the HHR and Cobalt. Gabriel quick strut yields the same result.

So.....
Do the quick struts work for our car or not?

I was looking at the quick strut for simplicity. If they won't work on our car, and I have to buy pieces, then I may just upgrade to the SS struts and springs if the cost is minimal. I figure that may help a bit on the Autobahn as well, but really not looking to dump a lot of money into a 7 year old 100k mile car.

Those that do upgrade to the SS strut and spring, are you also changing your sway bars too?

The front is pretty close, I ran cobalt springs for a while and didnt notice any difference on the front. The rears are where most of the weight difference comes in, they end up being lower and a bit softer. So for front quickstruts, I think you should be ok.

So, someone like me who has B&G cobalt springs (very low) what would happen if I put those on a HHR SS? Will it ride like a bag of crap?

About 2 years ago Eibach used my HHR to redesign their rear springs for the HHR because of the weight difference from the Cobalt.

OK, Thanks!
Guess I'll give the quick strut a shot.
