Well, have about 1,000-1,500 miles on them and so far, so good. Very please with the stopping with these. The cooling fins look a little thicker than the stocks, so I'll curious about longevity. But the initial start has been good. I didn't have any issues with the last ones until about 17K miles, so I'll update once I pass that goal. With my driving, about a year.

Thank you. I picked up the rotors last night and plan on ordering the caliper brackets today.

If you own a Panel or an 2LT,, you may be wasting your time with this mod as they already have the SS sized brakes on them from the factory(non-brembo)....but,it may be an improvement starting with a certain year and all inclusive with all years....check first!
Also, if you do have the big brakes..going to Brembos will be easier...

Very nice write up.
I just finished changing the rotors and pads on my 08 HHR SS. I used the Autozone rotors with Duralast Gold pads. I had 47,000 miles on the rotors and pads. I started to hear a squeal in the front, and found the front pads were shot. This was the easiest brake job I have ever done. Very straight forward just like the write up. Now I have nice smooth stops without the squeal.

They are a very easy change.

The only GM brakes change of late I had trouble with was on the GTP. The rear caliper bracket has one bolt stuck on the first change. I could not get a socket in on it with a bar. I did get it lose and after that everything else fell into place.

I would like to know where you came up with this? Every auto parts store I checked showed all LS and LT models (including 2.4 or panels) to have the exact same size rotors. Only the SS had the larger rotors. Most don't even designate a differance between the 1LT or 2LT, and only some even ask for motor size. But all showed the same size rotors.

Parts stores also show fe3 shocks and struts as a replacement for the fe5......Ask SSFan as he just upgraded...his panel had the bigger brakes stock..
