Well apparently softer springs are better for traction on a rough road. The keep the tire on the ground better than a stiff spring.

Soft springs are better for daily driving or rough roads, where stiff springs are better for handling and smooth roads like race tracks.

Looks like I'm sticking with the FE3 :)
