Sway Bar Diameter

Please correct me if I am wrong: HHR LS and LT models have a 22mm diameter sway bar, while the SS model has a 25mm diameter sway bar.

Also, the illustration at AutoPartsWarehouse shows the HHR sway bar bushing as having a split in it so that sliding the bushings onto the sway bar from the ends is not necessary.

I am tackling the "clunk" problem in my 2007 HHR LS and I do not want to purchase the wrong bushings. (I already have Moog sway bar end links)

metric aside, the LT bar's one inch.....i know since i just replaced the busshings with energy suspension pieces(p/n 9.5161G). the G is for the black, graphite impregnated ones....better choice as opposed to the red(fancy0 ones. either way. the bushings are split but not near flexable to allow going aroung the bar......would probably split the bushing. so, pulled the end links and wound up slipping them over the clean, greased bar. but, with the split in the bushing, getting them in place was easy. getting the metal straps off was a bit of a bit of a challenge(especially laying on your back in the garage). also, get a hold of some 90 degree zerks and point them out towards the wheel wells...makes greasing them a bunch easier.......after setting the grease fittings just right, i locked them in place with a dab of jb weld. bottom line..ALL clunkin gone.................

The bushing won't "clunk" until they calcify enough to allow REAL motion, like you could see the bar moving up/down, back/front (and hitting metal).

Dang it guys, trust me, I'm human....just ask my wife about things like breaking my ribs during the last remodeling project, or the day back when I lived up in Erie and I rear ended my own car...try explaining that to State Farm.
