Unhappy thumps

My 2007 Chevy HHR has a loud thumping sound and a cracking sound when going over bumps or speed bumps .I had it checked out at a tire shop and could not find anything wrong.It has 157.700miles and I have replaced some of the suspension parts but it still does it any help or advice I could get would be greatly appreciated

The one thing that a tire shop might not be able to see is the rear bushing on the lower control arms. Check them by attempting to roll the front wheels, if the wheel rolls with no motion of the body, they are bad.

Other thing are sway bar end links, sway bar bushings, strut mounts and hub/bearings.

Welcome to the site, could be swaybar bushings and or end links, the aforementioned LCA rear bushings, mine had noise , it was several things , loose intermediate steering shaft, sagging upper engine mount, and worn steering rack input shaft gears.
Now, don’t be alarmed, I just want you to know places to look, loose bolts , worn out strut mount bearings, loose front bumper cover.
