Upcoming front end work- alignment?

I will be soon replacing cv axles, and possibly hubs. Directions I seen indicated removing spindle from strut to remove cv. Will I need an alignment after? Or is there no adjustment at that junction? Thanks!

Thanks! That was what I was hoping for. As for the bolts, I have a nice size breaker bar, but getting old and lazy I broke down and bought a Hercules ultra torque impact. We'll see how that works, lol.

You shouldn’t use an impact on the axle nut.

Axle nut torque to 155 ft lbs
hub bolts torque to 85 ft lbs
brake caliper bracket bolts 85 ft lbs
caliper bolts 24 ft lbs

axle nut is 30 mm deep well
hub and caliper bolts are 15 mm
caliper bolts are 14 mm

You don't need to remove the spindle from the strut to replace the axles.

First, remove the axle hut from the center of the hub. Then remove the ball joint nut and bolt and pull the spindle off the ball joint shaft. Then remove the tie rod nut and pop the tie rod off the spindle. The spindle will now move out of the way and the axle can be removed.

Old blue, thanks for them torque values.

Fastsuv, I may go that route. Sounds easier, but I'll wait till I dig in to see. Working off jackstands in my driveway, I'll go whichever is easier

And by spindle, you mean the steering knuckle.

I’m working off jack stands, I remove the 2 bolts in the strut and knuckle . But the ball joint like fastsuv says works also. The ball joint pinch bolt should be a 16 mm on one side and a 15 mm on the other , torque to 37 ft lbs then back off 3/4 of a turn and retorque to 37 ft lbs. Then tighten another 30 degrees.
The strut bolts are 18 mm torque to 89 ft lbs
