Is there anything different about changing the pads on the HHR? Any tips, or just like other cars?

I had the rotors resurfaced twice on my 2LT (2000 miles and 17,000 miles)... it never did fix the pulsating. The stock rotors are not good, IMO.

I replaced the stock rotors and pads with Raybestos brand. The car now has 52,000 miles--did the brake replacement at 37,000... I have not had a single hint of pulsating rotors since dumping the stock parts.

I found the task of replacing the rotors and pads to be very easy. There really isn't anything out-of-the-ordinary to deal with. You MUST make certain that you clean the new rotors with your favorite brand of brake cleaner before installing, and be sure to lube the calipers/pads in the usual locations. Works like a charm!

I got my EBC rotors that I ordered today and the pads should be here tomorrow. I ordered two sets (the other for my parents hhr) and only
got one set of rotors shipped direct from EBC. Have to call the vendor
tomorrow and see what the deal is, but at least my set showed up so I
can install them Sunday :-)

I only have 1,300 miles on my 08 and I've heard about the dreaded warped rotors problem these cars have. Will my warranty cover this if it happens to me?

I had mine in once already for rotors... and it's happening again and I need to take it back for warranty.
I hope they just put new ones on this time..

I read in another thread that Chevy will only cover brake pulsation and turning the rotors for the first 12,000 miles, after 12,000 miles are up they want to charge you for it?

Nope....

ChevyMgr posted the tsb and it specifically states 36000/3 years.

I even heard of dealers doing it free with mileage in excess of that.....when the HHR has a history.
