08 HHR SS CV Axle

I'm trying to find a CV axle for my 2008 hhr ss. It seems that the local auto parts store sell the ones that are too small for the car. Has anybody had this problem with the ss? Has anybody found a vendor for the axles with the correct axles?

Probably best to find a machine shop that rebuilds.

The problem is my car is an auto and it seems that a lot of vendors don't offer the axles anymore. Gm doesnt make them anymore. Would a shop rebuild it?

They may not make them anymore, but they are available. Google the part number from the thread I linked to.

And yes, they can be rebuilt, I think there's a link in there for that also.

Found it. So far this seems to be the only one available I could find. Most sites are out of the product.

Looks like all you can do is rebuild them. I've called almost every single place. There is a axle in Austin, Texas, but they want 317.50 for the one axle.

Yeah only the gm center in Austin, Texas has one. The guy said I probably have to check salvage yards for the axles or find one from the auto parts stores. Even the auto parts stores sell the wrong ones.

It's looking like the 05-07 saturn ion auto drive shafts should fit for interchangeable part numbers. I'm going to order to find out. Part #10382154
34 inboard splines, 30 outboard splines, with 36mm nut.
