Hi everybody and happy holidays......

Any one ever change clutch and pressure plate,slave, on a 2006 2.4 LT.

I cant seem to find to much info on it .

I found that its 8hour job , any one ever do one .

Here's a thread on a 5-speed tear-down with some great photos showing what's involved in getting to the clutch, if you get queasy seeing HHR bits all scattered about, you've been warned.

Your source who told you a clutch job is around 8 hours, hit it fairly accurately.

Thanks, just what i was looking for. Shouldn't be all that bad of a job.
Only difference is i will not have hoist to work off of. But have lotsa jacks.

I put one in last winter. You may need an extra set of hands at times when handling the transmission. Some of the bolts are a real PITA to get at and loosen up as well.

I am dropping the sub frame once again as well this January. I am pulling the motor for some forged parts and throwing in another clutch. Any questions let me know.

You'll notice the clutch will say Daiken on it, which is Exedy and they offer an OE replacement as well as staged clutches. The OE part number from Exedy is GMK1010. Get the flywheel machined as well. Should run about $65 bucks at most shops. The flywheel bolts are also TTY. If you decide to machine the flywheel you will need new ones...$6.50 a bolt...and you need 6

Thanks for heads up on the bolts. I sure hope they have them in stock.
I'm going to call today, see what they have.

I got the Exedy clutch kit from a place in Cailfornia, good price(not sure if we suppose to advertise ) .

This is weird, very weird.... clutch is working fine, no slipping .

It quit slipping, on its own , tried everything to make it slip but will not happen.
I sure dont want to change it if it aint broke

Any idea what could of happen, air or dirt in the hydraulic line?

Sure has me puzzled, is there some kind of relief valve in the system to delay the releas of throw ot bearing?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Glad it fixed itself. On the minus side,you have to wonder how much of its "life" you used up when the clutch was slipping.
