Erratic shifting

I have a 2006 HHR with a 2.2. It’s an LT and it has a problem of erratic hard shifts and darn near every light on the dash will light up. I’ve taken it to a Chevy dealer and another garage but no one can pinpoint the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

When the tranny shifts "hard" THERE IS a CEL light on.
That is to warn you that something isn't right.
Get the code read and post it here.
Fix the code and the issue will go away.
Continual driving in this condition will only make things worse.

Cj-five had a similar thread back in 2023. He didn’t come back to that one.
It was same car, same problems.
Wonder if he’ll come back to this one.

I'd scan the system and see what codes are in there.

I’ve had three mechanics tell me about the grounds that terminate to a threaded stud under the oil filter housing. They said the ring terminals corrode and create a bad ground. Anybody ever hear of this?

Clean it up and see. Bad grounds are common.
