Talking Ky clutch is ordered!

Well after having trouble shifting at the track and my power level it's time to get a new clutch. I order a new ky stage 3 and can't wait for it to get here.

Does anyone have life expectancies on similar aftermarket units? If I'm thinking correctly, when I see a 6-puck friction disc next to a solid disc, I can't help but think you are sacrificing long-term durability for clamping force..

I only ask because when I'll eventually need one, it won't be the kind of job I'll want to do (or have done) twice.

Thanks!

(plus, KY is much cheaper than the Spec 3+... thoughts?)

Cobalt members have been using these a long time, I dont know of a single one that is worn out yet. They use premium material.

Plus for the price, you cannot go wrong. They are a smaller company, in which dont have a lot of over head, so you get awesome value!

I had a spec stage 3 in my camaro ls1 and that lasted a while i didnt replace when i sold it. I beat the piss out of it and it was a 6 puck. The reason i went with the ky stage 3 is i am making about 380whp and stock clutch wont hold. I dont DD anymore so i am not to worry about it.

Good answers. Thanks for the input.

I likely won't start doing any serious power mods until my warranty expires.. but the clutch will be in there for "preventative maintenance".

The stage 3 doesn't come with a alignment tool?

Yes it does, KY will ship you one out direct to you tomorrow once they open. :) They must have forgotten to throw in the $3 tool.
