Swapping the automatic for a 5speed manual

Hello guys, I am gathering information on doing the exact same thing... I have a 2010 panel with a bad auto transmission and a wrecked 2010 5 speed with only 85k miles. Any tips or tricks to getting the cables, pedals, brackets swapped over?

Eli320 never came back with a tut. OshawaHHRss is the authority on it, read whatever he has posted. Not a project for the unexperienced.

My best guess would be bring the motor and it's ECM and harnesses too.

What do you mean by bad automatic transmission,
A: it doesn’t shift properly?
B: it won’t move in forward gears but will reverse?
c: it’s loaded with metal particles in the transmission pan.

sometimes the automatic transmission just needs a few parts replaced, like a shift solenoid or fluid transfer pipe

Removing the side cover gives access to the solenoids Removing the fluid pan and filter gives access to the fluid transfer pipe. Both tasks can be done with the HHR on jack stands and the use of a hydraulic floor jack to lower the engine cradle and transmission down enough to get the side pan off.

Yeah it just needs shift solenoids, but I'm motivated to have a 5 speed panel... I have 1200 bucks into both cars, so I'm working with what I've got.

Got the 5 speed car mostly stripped down, just need to pull off the brake lines and undo the the mount bolts, strut nuts, and subframe bolts.

Gonna lift the body off the subframe... Engine and trans are both going to the panel... 210k engine from the panel is gonna go in another car I've been looking at that threw timing chains

I've done the job on my LS, wasn't much fun... Spent about as much time struggling as I did last night to get this stripped down, we'll how things go

My biggest question mark is how the clutch and hydraulics mount...Haven't really looked much into it, didn't wanna break my stride of getting things I knew done
