hhr fuel economy

It's in the manual.....
On my 2007 I scroll through with the "info" button on the steering wheel and when it's displaying the MPG push and hold the button below that (with the arrow on it) and it resets to 0. After driving for about 5-6 miles it's displaying approximately what it's running at the moment but it's constantly averaging, it's not a "real time" reading. Not sure if they are all the same though.
Which engine do you have?

I've found that, for me, the DIC always reads 1-1.5 mpg lower than what I get when I figure it out by hand. How long ago was it that it was reading 24 mpg? My gas mileage always goes down in the winter time, which is typical for any car. I've been getting 2-3 mpg less than I did before winter. Also, it depends a lot on the type of driving you do. If you got 24 mpg in mixed city/hwy driving, that's about normal. Maybe you're getting less gas mileage because you've been doing more city/stop-and-go driving?? Just some thoughts.... My fuel economy varies greatly depending on how I drive and what kind of driving I do. I've gotten as high as 34-35 mpg doing highway driving, but I've also gotten as low as 16-17 mpg when I'm doing a ton of city/stop-and-go driving. It just depends.

I've gotten as low as 14.5........ But I was repaving the roads with rubber at the time....
You should average above 25 most of the time with average driving, winter is always lower. I tend to average 29-30 during the summer with a 2.4L running 93 octane.

Winter time mileage is always worse for me. I'm in Western NY. There is warm up and defrost time to consider. Your car is running, but just sitting there while the windows are defrosting, ans snow is being cleared off. This destroys your overall mileage.
Summer, you can hop in and go, no "wasted warm up" time
