The GM Performance Division will work its magic on the HHR. Expect at least 205 horsepower from a supercharged Ecotec I-4, with a package similar in spirit to the Cobalt SS.

There you go!
I don't believe that either because there is no such thing as an Ecotec I-4 engine in the GM family unless it's 100% new and unannounced. The supercharged Cobalt SS engine is an LSJ, which is a destroked L61 Ecotec with a Eaton M62 slapped on. The same engine is in the Saturn Ion Red Line. People should stop believing internet rumors until GM makes an official press release.

I wonder if they were using I-4 as an abbreviation for inline 4 cylinder? None the less, I'll refuse the urge to listen to internet gossip and rumors.

A 2LT is 172 HP right now. 205 is not much faster

But isnt the Ecotec in the Supercharged Cobalt the 2.2???
So, working up the 2.4, which has more HP to begin with, should
result in more power than the Cobalt.

One thing I never understood is why car companies turbo and super charge the smaller engines. Why not start out with the engines producing more HP? Is the engine that much weaker from the larger bore? Will the longer stroke be a problem? I think not.

Why would somebody want an SS HHR? all you have to do is build up the one you already have, then apply a SS emblem on it ?

LMAO I knew when this thread started... it would turn into the "Great SS Debate"

Next question: "I have a '07 HHR SS and I'm running 89 octane or should I run 93 octane"...
